Ahmad Mustakim Abdul Hamid is a Malaysian man who has been sentenced to fifteen years of jail by a Somali military court in Mogadishu for assisting the Al-Shabaab terrorist group.

He was accused of using the internet to encourage other foreigners to join al-Shabaab.

Ahmad Mustakim’s court proceedings began in 2019 after his arrest that year, and that he was being treated well and receiving a fair trial according to Somalia‘s justice system.

He is believed to have entered Somalia around 2009 or 2010.

Also, he is the first Malaysian to be charged with assisting the Al-Shabaab in Somalia.

Ahmad Mustakim, for his part, assisted the Al Shabaab terrorists with First Aid and took part in fighting in Mogadishu and Dhusamareb.
