Five men arrested in Abkhazia over alleged links to Islamic State terrorist group

Five Tajik citizens have been arrested in Abkhazia on suspicion of having links with the Islamic State group, the Abkhaz security service reported on Thursday.

The men were arrested on June 8 by the Abkhaz security service, “in coordination with Russian colleagues,” the report said without giving further details.

The detainees were transferred to the Russian side “for conducting operative-investigative actions,” Sokhumi authorities added.
