Austrian police detained two Chechen terror suspects for planning attack in Vienna for Christmas

Austrian police authorities prevented terrorist attack in Vienna, that needed to take place during the Christmas days in the capital of Austria.

A 25-year-old and a 31-year-old Chechen are sitting in Wiener Neustadt in custody. The younger man is a martial artist and both are considered integrated.

According to the authorities, the duo planned an explosive attack or other attack in Vienna. Both the lawyer of martial artist Ahmed A. (25) and the lawyer of Alik B. (31) speak of completely nonsensical allegations.

The two men have not known each other for too long. It is beleived that the 31-year-old Alik. B knows the 25-year-old and has spoken to him on the phone.

According to lawyer Florian Kreiner, 31-year-old Alik B. is a well-integrated family man and the 25-year-old Ahmed A. is a martial artist (Mixed Material Arts) is active in a club in Vienna’s favorites. The almost 70 kilogram fighter has also fought several fights for Austria – his record is six wins, one defeat.

The public prosecutor in Wiener Neustadt remains very covered for tactical reasons, and only confirms the two men’s U-custody on suspicion of terrorism. The suspected duo has to spend Christmas in custody. The next custody check will only take place in 14 days, exactly on December 27th.
