ISIS member captured in Bremen was planning to attack Kurdish people

New information has been obtained by the German press on the ISIS member from Daghestan who was captured in Bremen, Germany last March. According to a report in the weekly news journal Der Spiegel’s new issue, the Daghestani gang member was preparing for terrorist attacks.
The Daghestani gang member was reported to have planned attacks on a police station, a courthouse and during a demonstration by the Kurds. Interior Affairs Senator of the Bremen State hasn’t confirmed this information, while Radio Bremen claims to have obtained information that the attack plan included the Kurds from a reliable source.

The unnamed ISIS member immigrated to Germany from Daghestan at an early age with his family and was detained while he was preparing to go to Syria to join ISIS. Reports say “The young man was barred from leaving the country and during this time, he contacted radical Islamist groups and started visiting the mosque close to ISIS in Gröpelingen.”

It has come to light that the young man spoke to a friend of his in an internet cafe in January 2017 about planning attacks and spoke of the targets he wanted. The young man also downloaded how to make a bomb over the internet at this time.

The Daghestani young man is a Russian citizen and has been held in prison since March 14, 2017. But German security officials are trying to deport him. His case is expected to be resolved in the Federal Constitutional Court this month.
