An Islamic State (IS) commander was among six militants killed in an airstrike attack in eastern Nangarhar province, the Afghan National Army said on Thursday.
A statement from the 201st Selab Military Corps said foreign forces conducted the drone strike in the Wazir Tangi area of Khogyani district late on Wednesday night.
It added six insurgents, including Daesh commander Yasir Khorasani, were killed and their weapons and ammunition destroyed in the overnight raid.
The militant outfit has not yet commented on the raid.
