Al-Ahmar Group: Al-Salam Established For Trading And General Agencies
Activities:
The trading arm of Al-Ahmar Group, Al-Salam Establishment conducts trading, representations, tenders’ supply, strategic projects etc. SET’s departments with known western connections are:
1. Telecommunication Department: the division represents and sells Nokia mobile telephones and Philips pagers. The department formed partnership with OTE Hellenic Telecommunications and Hellascom S.A, a daughter company of OTE, and with Transjordan for Communication. A daughter company of SET specializing in communication trading is Al-Hadha & Partners for Communication.
2. Oil and Gas Projects: Represents international oil and gas companies and helps them acquire blocks for oil exploration and share in the Yemen liquefied natural gas Project. The department represents Vintage Petroleum Inc. of Oklahoma, and obtained for them the concession of Block S1 Shabwa.
3. Computers Department: The department holds agency for Compaq, Gateway 2000, Citizen Printers, Psion Palm Computers (bought by Motorola). The department entered programming business in cooperation with Oracle. Lift Department: Holds the agency for Kone, Sabiem Lifts and O&K Escalators.
