Five Islamic State hideouts found in Kirkuk by the Iraqi forces

At least five hideouts belonging to the Islamic State (IS) jihadists were found in the disputed Kurdish province of Kirkuk on Wednesday, Iraq’s Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The hideouts were discovered during an operation by the federal police forces in the village of Garhakazan, in which they also seized about 20 explosive devices.

The police forces, in the meantime, arrested a couple of “terrorists” for whom arrest warrants had been issued.

Speaking to BasNews, Adil Kakayi, a Peshmerga commander in the province, revealed that the Islamic State’s movements have increased in Kirkuk and other disputed areas, pointing out that there are no forces in some territories.
