Iraqi army forces detained Islamic State senior terrorist in Anbar

Iraqi soldiers managed to detain a Daesh senior militant in the western Anbar province, according to the country’s defense ministry on Monday.

The ministry emphasized in a statement that the arrested terrorist was having a good relation with Daesh leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, without mentioning the name of the terrorist.

The terrorist was detained in the city of Heet in Anbar, without providing more detailed information.

In mid-2014, Daesh overran roughly one third of Iraq, including the northern city of Mosul.
