Senior Islamic Jihad leader Khaled al-Batash said the path of martyred Iranian commander Lt. General Qassem Soleimani as a supporter of Islamic resistance will continue.
Speaking to Palestine Today news agency, he said Martyr Soleimani was a major figure in the axis of resistance and a strong source of support for resistance movements.
He added that while his martyrdom was a tragedy, the path of Martyr Soleimani and other senior figures of Islamic resistance will continue.
Elsewhere in his remarks, al-Batash said the Zionist regime will receive a severe response in case of any aggression against the Palestinian nation.
On January 3 this year, US assassination drones killed Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), among others, after targeting their vehicles in Baghdad.
The terror attack took place under the direction of US President Donald Trump, with the US Department of Defense taking responsibility for the strike.
Both commanders were admired by Muslim nations for supporting the axis of resistance and eliminating the US-sponsored Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.
