Islamic State terrorist group is already recruiting young people in Afghanistan

The branch of the Islamic State terrorist group in Afghanistan, Kholayat Khorasan, is trying to strengthen its position in northern and eastern Afghanistan, citing Mir Haidar Afzali’s statement. Afazli is a former chairman of the Afghanistan House of Representatives defense committee.

Islamic State is trying to recruit young people in the northern and eastern parts of the country. “The most dangerous members of Islamic State, arrested in the past by Afghan forces, have been released from prison and are now calling on young people to cooperate with them,” Afzali wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, some Afghan experts noted that prisoners, including hundreds of ISIS supporters, had been released during the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan amid the withdrawal of US and NATO troops.

According to Afzali, Islamic State still does not have better weapons and better conditions, but according to him, the situation may change in the future.

“It seems that the projects for extremism in Afghanistan are not over yet,” the politician said.
