Eight Islamic State terrorists captured in Anbar

At least eight militants of the Islamic State (IS) were captured on Wednesday in the Iraqi province of Anbar.

The insurgents were apprehended during an operation carried out by the Iraqi intelligence forces in the areas of Zinkur and Abu Tiban in Anbar, the Iraqi army said in a statement

According to the statement, the eight jihadists’ mission was to gather information on the national security forces as well as citizens, as cited by Iraqi News.

The Islamic State is losing its last territories in neighboring Syria, but the insurgent group is attempting to reorganize itself in Iraq, thus the extremists have intensified their terrorist activities against the forces and civilians in the country, especially in Anbar.
