Israeli Defense Forces folied terrorist attack in east Jerusalem

IDF soldiers thwarted a terrorist attack in east Jerusalem near Abu Dis on Friday evening, when they opened fire at three Palestinians who were gearing up to throw a firebomb at them, an IDF official said.

The incident took place in Abu Dis, where the IDF maintains an outpost at the Governor’s House. Troops from the IDF’s Binyamin Battalion were protecting it when they spotted the three terrorists and opened fire.

The three were injured and are being provided with medical aid by the Red Crescent. No IDF soldiers were injured in the incident.

Also over the weekend, Palestinian security forces arrested three suspected terrorists planning to attack IDF troops, Channel 12 News reported.

According to the report, the arrests were made in the Balata refugee camp near the city of Nablus.

The three reportedly had two Gustav submachine guns – self-styled firearms produced in West Bank – in their possession.
