An Afghan official said Monday, that a key Taliban commander for eastern Nangarhar was killed in northwestern Pakistan.

The Taliban commander was shot and killed in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan.

Nangarhar Governor, Zia-ul-Haq Amarkhel named the militant commander “Nek Mohammad”, who was assassinated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan.

According to Amarkhel, two other militants accompanying Nek Mohammad including Azizullah known as Mustafa were also injured in the Haji Camp area of Peshawar.

This comes as two public uprising force members were killed and several others were injured in a Taliban offensive in Herat province on early Tuesday morning.
