Lebanese army detained another two Islamic State terrorist group members

The Lebanese Army announced that it had arrested 2 individuals linked to the terrorist group ISIS (Daesh) on Saturday.
The arrests came during a raid in the village of Arsal in the Baalbek District, Baalbek-Hermel Governorate, as part of the Lebanese Army‘s ongoing crackdown on terrorist militants in the country. The 2 detainees were identified as Syrian nationals.
The Army said it confiscated ammunition and weapons that were found in suspects’ houses in Arsal during the past 24 hours. The new arrests raise the number of ISIS-related arrests over the past week to 20.
On Monday, the Lebanese Army announced the apprehension of 18 individuals linked to the group – 13 Syrians and 5 Lebanese.
The Army stated on the same day that the detained individuals had admitted to having been preparing for terrorist activities in Lebanon.
Al-Mayadeen TV reported that the detainees had confirmed they had been holding meetings in different places to avoid rousing suspicions.
During a recent interview with Al-Hurra, the director-general of Lebanese General Security, Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim, said that necessary measures were being taken to prevent ISIS from entering Lebanon.
