A man from Coventry has been charged with terrorism offences

Aftab Khan, of Dorset Road, Radford, was arrested in July last year in a pre-planned operation and has today been charged by West Midlands Police.

The 52-year-old has been charged with five counts of disseminating terrorism material and one count of possessing material likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

Khan will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on February 17.

A 38-year-old man, also arrested during the same operation at a separate address, has been charged with firearms offences.

Mohammed Farrukh Yousif, of Cash’s Lane, Foleshill, will appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on March 9 charged with two counts of possessing ammunition, two counts of possessing a firearm and one count of possessing a prohibited weapon.
