General Info:
Mohammed Rahman is a British Islamist activist and former supporter of Omar Bakri Mohammed. Rahman is well-known for his support of radical Islamist views.

He has been described as a lecturer in Islamic jurisprudence. Rahman is also the author of ‘Are Demonstrations Beneficial? – In Light of The Qur’an and Sunnah’, in which he opposes demonstrations.

Rahman has a long history of incitement charges. He was imprisoned from 2007 to 2010, following his conviction on charges of inciting violence and calling for the murder of American and British troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

According to local authorities, after Islamic State declared a caliphate in June 2014, both Rahman and his associate Anjem Choudary pledged allegiance to former Daesh leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi over a Skype call with a convicted terrorist in Indonesia.

Before his arrest in September 2014, Rahman used to broadcast his lectures on YouTube and Facebook and used Twitter to spread his propaganda.

Rahman openly advocated for “Sharia in the United Kingdom” and claimed that the Daesh flag would one day fly over the White House.

In September 2014, Rahman and Choudary were charged with their support to Islamic State. In July 2016, he was found guilty and sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in prison.

Rahman frequently urged the release of Islamists in prison, notably Bakri Muhammad, on Twitter.

Additionally, Rahman has repeatedly condoned or supported terrorist attacks on London, declaring, “I must accept that I might become collateral damage in any #LondonAttack by its many furious war victims.”

Rahman further stated that “minority citizens are being slaughtered on a vast basis by the government in #USA, not #IS.”

After Islamic State declared its so-called caliphate in June 2014, Rahman pledged allegiance to its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi over a Skype call.

That summer, Rahman uploaded a series of videos to YouTube in which he extolled the caliphate. “How is America going to survive against the Islamic State’s defence and retaliation?” he asked the viewers. “This is the real issue. They will not survive, in my opinion. I believe America’s time has come to an end. They won’t admit it, but it’s over.”

In an article by the Daily Mail, a video of Mohammed Rahman went viral showing him praising the terrorists who kidnapped more than 300 Nigerian schoolgirls.

In the shared videotape, Rahman said that killing non-Muslims was “not necessarily a terrible thing” and lauded the terror group Boko Haram.

“People want to make it out as though history began on the day these girls were taken from – sorry I should say these women – were taken from this high school in Nigeria,” Rahman added. He went on to say that the terrorist group was “full of good messages,” including their support for Al Qaeda.

In an article by the BBC, Rahman reportedly encouraged violence against British and American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan during protests against the Danish cartoons of Prophet Muhammad.

According to David Perry QC, Rahmad was heard saying: “Oh Allah, we want to see another 9/11 in Iraq, another 9/11 in Denmark, another 9/11 in Spain, in France, all over Europe.”

Rahman was released from prison in October 2018 but is on license and abides by several conditions that prevent him from using social media freely.
