Baby pulled out of wreckage of a school alive after spending days alone in ISIS bomb hit building

A tiny baby has been pulled alive from the wreckage of a bombed school after surviving for “several days” alone.

Troops in Iraq rescued the one-year-old boy from the ravaged building in the ISIS-held city of Mosul .

Soldiers, who claim the youngster had not eaten for days, can be seen washing dirt and dust from the brave baby.

The Iraqi army have launched a new offensive to reclaim the Old City from ISIS jihadists and the baby boy is one of hundreds of people who have managed to flee the district and be rescued from the wreckage.

Staff Lieutenant General Abdulghani al-Assadi, a senior commander in the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS), said while progress wasslow, the fight was going as expected.
