Shifa Harris from Kannur in Kerala was detained for motivating young people to join the Islamic State (ISIS) and raising funds for the organisation’s activities.

She allegedly wanted to join the Islamic State in one of the areas controlled by the terror outfit in West Asia or Afghanistan. Harris was also helping an alleged Islamic State recruit in Jammu and Kashmir.

Shifa is a B.Com dropout from a Kerala college and holds a diploma in teaching.

Mizha Siddeeque had also radicalized other accused in the case namely her cousin Mus’Hab Anwar, Shifa Harris and was motivating them to join the Islamic State terrorist group.

Harris has affiliation with the Islamic State and on directions of Mus’Hab Anwar and Mizha, she had transferred funds to Jammu and Kashmir resident Mohammad Waqar Lone, alias Wilson Kashmiri, allegedly for supporting Islamic State terror activities.

Shifa was willing to perform Hijra to Islamic State-controlled territory for joining the terrorist group.
