Shokhista Karimova is the only woman charged in the terrorist bomb attack in the St. Petersburg metro.
Karimova was present in court on November 19, a day after collapsing during the trial being held at a visiting session of the Moscow District Military Court in St. Petersburg.
The 47-year-old Uzbek fruit-seller is the only woman among the defendants, and she is sentenced to 20 years in jail. She was living in Moscow at the time of the attack.
When the trial began she declared her innocence, claiming that Russia’s FSB security service had planted a grenade and explosives at her home. After the verdict, Karimova shouted angrily from the cage where the defendants were being held.
