Sixteen Syrian regime soldiers and Islamic State members killed in clashes in rural Al Raqqah

SOHR activists have documented the death of seven regime soldiers and loyalists in a new attack by ISIS members on regime positions in Al-Raqqah countryside. Nine ISIS members were also killed in the clashes and bombardment on the area.

On the other hand, SOHR activists have monitored a squadron of Russian jets executing several airstrikes on ISIS positions in Jabal Al-Beshri in the Syrian desert, near the administrative border between Deir Ezzor and Al-Raqqah.

It is worth noting that Russian jets executed dozens of airstrikes in the past few days.

Yesterday, Observatory activists documented the killing of a regime lieutenant and a commander of the regime-backed “National Defence Forces” (NDF), in clashes with ISIS members in the southern desert of Dier Ezzor province.

Since the 24th of March 2019, SOHR has documented the killing of at least 753 regime soldiers and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least two Russians, and 140 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities. All were killed in attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State”, west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Homs, and Al-Suwaidaa.

Also four civilians working in gas fields, 11 shepherds and four other people were killed and documented by SOHR in the same period, from late March 2019 until today. They were killed in attacks by ISIS cells. While 358 ISIS members were also killed in attacks and bombardment in the same period.
