ISIS terrorists celebrates attack on ‘another crusader capital city’

In what’s become a familiar ritual, supporters of the Islamic State terror group are celebrating Friday’s deadly attack in Stockholm online, while much about the attacker and his motivations still remains unknown.
A truck rammed into a department store in the center of the Swedish capital early Friday, leaving several people dead and many more injured. Sweden’s Prime Minister Stefan Löfven called the incident “a terror attack.”

Islamic State adherents were quick to celebrate. “We will terrorize you and will not stay silent with the shedding of Muslim blood. We have lone wolves who wait for you,” wrote one supporter. Others celebrated that “the blood of infidels is everywhere in Stockholm” and said that the pictures coming from the scene are “healing the hearts of the believers.”

It’s become a familiar hallmark of a new style of terror attack. Similar messages cropped up just over two weeks ago, when a man drove a truck into a crowd outside the British Parliament in London. That attacker, identified as 52-year-old Khalid Masood, is believed to have been inspired by Islamic radicalism, but there is no clear sign he was trained or instructed by ISIS itself. Five people died in the attack, including a police officer and Masood, and dozens more were wounded.

On closed ISIS channels on Telegram, users sought to justify Friday’s attack against Sweden by saying the country is taking part in the U.S-led coalition against ISIS in Iraq and Syria.
