ISIS terrorists attack village in Diyala province in Iraqi Army uniforms

Islamic State (IS) insurgents, wearing Iraqi uniforms, have raided a village in Diyala province and killed a country’s soldier, a Kurdish official said on Sunday.

According to a statement by the former head of Tuz Khurmatu media, Mohammad Fayaq, released on his Facebook feed, the militants had disguised themselves as the Iraqi troops and attacked the village of Himrat near the town of Mandali in Diyala on Sunday morning.

The Kurdish official identified the Iraqi victim as Mahmood Fazil Mohammed.

In an earlier statement, Fayaq said that the body of a man was found dead in his car in the town of Tuz Khurmatu who was apparently killed by an unidentified group of armed men.

Since October events, last year, when the Iraqi forces overran the Kurdish disputed territories, violations have drastically increased in the area at the absence of the Kurdish Peshmerga forces.
