The Islamic State lost 95% of its combat force in Nineveh

Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi (PMF) Operations Command in Nineveh confirmed on Tuesday that ISIS has lost more than 95% of its combat capacity in the governorate.

The commander of operations, Khudair Al-Matrouhi, told Shafaq News agency, “ISIS is finished in Nineveh. It lost the ability to appear and confront due to the military and security operations of Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi, Tribal and security forces”, indicating that the organization still have strongholds in the area between Nineveh, Al-Anbar and Saladin.

He stressed, “ISIS militants are present in the aforementioned areas and cannot be eliminated in a short time without intensifying intelligence operations, air pursuit by drones and daily reconnaissance detachments”.

Al-Matrouhi highlighted, “destroying dozens of dangerous strongholds and dens for ISIS throughout Nineveh and eliminating dozens of terrorists and important leaders in the organization in the recent security operations”.

He added, “Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi covers all sectors of Nineveh. The security hotspots have come under control. We ristricted the movement of the organization’s members and prevented it from initiating any terrorist attacks. Nineveh regions now enjoy an ideal security situation”.
