UK, UN and Switzerland designated senior member of Islamic State terrorist group

Emraan Ali, a senior member of ISIL who is said to have recruited for the group and virtually instructed people to commit terrorist acts, has been added to the UN’s ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida sanctions list.

The UK and Switzerland have tracked the UN by listing Mr Ali pursuant to domestic legislation.

Ali was designated by the US in September 2018 for “acting for or on behalf of ISIS”. See previous post.
