ISIS unleashes a legion of suicide jihadi brides as Iraqi forces close in on terrorist cell

ISIS militants have unleashed a wave of female suicide bombers in a bid to cling onto their dwindling territory in Mosul.

The women, believed to be brides of the jihadi’s, hid among residents fleeing the country’s second-largest city with 20 blowing themselves up since Sunday.

Iraqi soldiers are requesting fleeing women remove their niqab’s, which covers everything but the eyes, in a frantic bid to identify attackers.

One soldier said: “We are facing more suicide attacks than ever, and we are demanding all women fleeing the old city to remove their niqabs.

“Most of the bombers are foreigners from Arab countries who joined Isis in Iraq.”

Zuhair al-Juburi, the leader of Mosul’s city council, believes the women have decided to die rather than be arrested by the advancing Iraqi army.

He said: “One of the suicide bombers was Tunisian. She blew herself up among displaced people in the Old City.”

Security sources said at least 11 civilians were killed, but declined to release details of troop casualties.

One security official told The Times: “In the last month 38 female suicide bombers blew themselves up in the city.”

The terror cult are becoming more desperate in their bid to cling onto control following the advancing military operation on their stronghold in Mosul.

The Iraqi military are adamant that only a couple of hundred of ISIS militants are left in the city.

Although Major General Sami al-Aridi of Iraq’s special forces said hundreds of militants have managed to escape from the Old City.

He said: “They just shave their beards and walk out. Just yesterday we captured two among a group of women and children.”

ISIS’ territory in Iraq has been reduced to a 250m by 500m corner of Mosul by the River Tigris.
