ISIS weapons cache discovered in Western Mosul
The discovery of the weapons cache took place as the fight against ISIL in the Northern city of Mosul is going on to retake the entire city from the ISIS militants, Bas News reported.
The cache which was discovered by the Iraqi army in Western Mosul contained around 700 mortars.
An officer from the Iraqi army told Kurdistan24 that they couldn’t use the ammunition fearing of being rigged with explosives, therefore, they destroy them.
Iraqi forces have made remarkable achievements since February, retaking main government buildings, the citys airport and a major military base in the Western part of the city.
The troops have recently pushed deeper into the Old City, a densely-populated and -structured area which military officials view as central to the desired victory over ISIS militants.
