Youth arrested for posting on social media in support of terrorism

A youth who posted on social media in support of ISIS, Al Qaeda and Taliban has been arrested. Ranchi Police arrested a youth named Farhan Malik on Sunday. He had posted on Instagram in support of Al Qaeda and Taliban. Amidst India-Pakistan tension, many misleading posts are going viral on social media. Police is also keeping an eye on this and taking action. MLA CP Singh had given information about this on X. Singh said, “The pictures shared by Farhan Malik, a resident of Ranchi, on his social media are extremely provocative and related to national security and sovereignty of India. “Ghazwa-e-Hind” slogan on Instagram, insult to Indian Army and most seriously he has shared the flag which is the identity of international terrorist organizations like ISIS, Taliban, Al-Qaeda,” he said. The MLA said that this is not only open treason but also a clear indication of a terrorist mindset. “The case is not just about a young man but reflects the poisonous ideology which is being instilled in the minds of the youth through some maulanas and madrassas. It is time that this young man should be arrested immediately and a thorough investigation should be done to find out if he is connected to any big terrorist network? If such thinking, such intentions and such people are not taught a lesson today, then tomorrow they can carry out a big incident. If we want to save the country, then strict steps will have to be taken now,” he said. On this, Ranchi police took immediate cognizance and arrested Farhan Malik. Ranchi police informed CP Singh that the person has been identified and arrested after registering an FIR. Further action is being taken.
