Terror organization: Hashemite Tribes Regiment

Status: A prominent Arab leader among the tribes in Dier ez-Zur region, head of Hashemite Tribes Regiment.

Role: This new militia established in order to fight the Kurdish forces and strengthen the Arab tribes’ control in the region of east Euphrates River. According to different sources, Quds Force officers, supported by the Assad regime, are behind this latest development.

Al-Bashir was also in contact with Russian factors.

This will strengthen IRGC’s foothold in the area of east Syria for new routes of smuggling convoys.
