Teenager and 21-year-old from West Yorkshire charged with terrorism offences

Two men from Bradford have been charged with offences under the Terrorism Act.

The West Yorkshire pair were arrested on Wednesday July 3 following an investigation by officers with the Leeds-based North East Counter Terrorism Unit.

Mohammed Shehzad, 21, of Upper Woodlands Road, Bradford is charged with an offence of disseminating terrorist publications, contrary to section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Safaan Ali, 18, of of Fairbank Road, Bradford is charged with eight offences of possessing material likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

The men were charged on Tuesday evening this week. They were remanded in custody and are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court in London today.
