Eight Islamic State terrorists killed in air strike on hideout in Nineveh

Iraq’s Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday (May 11) eight Islamic State (ISIS) members were killed in air bombardments targeting a hideout used by the group in Nineveh governorate.

“Iraqi F-16s in cooperation with the Counter Terrorism Service carried out destructive air strikes on an ISIS cave and killed eight terrorists inside Mosul,” the ministry said in a Facebook statement.

The ministry also announced on Wednesday three “terrorists” were killed in a large-scale operation in the mountainous countryside south of Mosul where a tunnel occupied by militants was discovered.

A number of explosives were found in the hideout, which were handled by a squad of engineers, according to a statement from the ministry.
