Turkish police nab three Daesh/ISIS terror suspects

Police in Türkiye arrested three Deash/ISIS terror suspects in the country’s southeast, a security source said on Tuesday.

Counter-terrorism teams conducted an operation in the city center of Adiyaman and raided houses where the terror suspects were believed to be hiding, said the source on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The suspects, identified only by the initials I.N, L.H. and A.A., were arrested during the operation.

Following a health check, the suspects were taken to the provincial police department.

In 2013, Türkiye became one of the first countries to declare Daesh/ISIS a terrorist organization.

The country has since been attacked by the terror group multiple times, with over 300 people killed and hundreds more injured in at least 10 suicide bombings, seven bomb attacks, and four armed attacks. In response, Türkiye launched anti-terror operations at home and abroad to prevent further attacks.
