According to the indictments filed by Adv. Avi Or Zach, during the two years prior to their arrest, the two defendants showed a growing interest in ISIS and its activities, and developed an ideological identification with the organization’s actions, values ​​and goals.

During the period, due to their ideological identification and support for the organization, the defendants entered websites where content identified with the organization was displayed and regularly watched videos of the ISIS organization or videos identified with the organization.

In addition, the defendants talked about their desire to produce an explosive device for jihad purposes, so they watched videos and downloaded and held content on their cellular devices that teach how to manufacture weapons, including explosives and explosive devices.

During 2021 the defendant Jamil purchased, for himself and for the defendant agitated, two protective vests and two rings on which one of the organization’s symbols was stamped and in January 2022 the defendants decided to go to one of the African countries to join the organization’s fighting.

In February this year, the defendants bought a gun for NIS 35,000 as part of the interrogation of the defendants by the security forces and after their arrest, the gun was seized as well as a cartridge and pistol bullets, after one of the defendants gave details of their location. The prosecution wants to detain the defendants until the end of the proceedings.
