Russian fighter jets renew air bombardment on Islamic State-spreading areas

Russian fighter jets resumed flying over the Syrian desert after disappearing for long hours as three warplanes have targeted ISIS-spreading areas in Athrya desert and al-Raqqa-Hama-Aleppo triangle and Palmyra desert in east Homs countryside with so far 25 intensive raids.

It is worth noting that Palmyra desert also has witnessed clashes between regime forces and its factions on one side and ISIS fighters on the other, in the past few hours. But, no casualties have been reported yet.

On Nov. 4, SOHR sources reported that Russian fighter jets executed nearly ten airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in al-Rasafah desert in the western countryside of al-Raqqah, but no casualties have been reported.

Today’s airstrikes coincided with routine combing operations by regime forces, searching for ISIS cells in several areas in the desert.
